Awakened:
The Legend of Helen Keller

In her lifetime, Helen Keller faced numerous obstacles that she had to overcome. Her perseverance and determination inspire everyone, demonstrating that with hard work, anything is possible. The Helen Keller Birthplace has created a collection called "Awakened: The Legend of Helen Keller," which provides insights into her life and teaches individuals how to read Braille.

 

Featured in the 2021 SCAD Graphic Design Senior Showcase

The first word Helen understood that there was a meaning behind the word was water. Anne Sullivan, her teacher, put Helen's hand under running water and kept spelling out water on her hand. Water means transformation and rebirth. The day that Helen learned the word water, her life changed. ​
